The city's economy is based on the tourism industry, with many businesses and restaurants located in or near theingaminging Las Vegas strip. This past summer, the city faced its own challenges due to the annual Las Vegas inns and beers festival which was held in the city. The festival was to with great expectations, but due to the weather, weather conditions and the lack of a clear plan, the city's officials decided to cancel the event.
